I had a great conversation with Dennis (my pastor) and Joe over dinner at Apo Apo. Throughout our conversation I kept thinking about the this scene/speech from Rocky IV.
“If I can change. And you can change. EVERYONE can change!”
I guess that’s the power of change. If want things change to take place, often times change has to take place in us first. I believe there’s a lot of healing that takes place when we turn to ourselves introspectively. Often times change doesn’t take place by complaining or wishing hard that it takes place.
I know it’s really cliche, but sometimes it’s those cliches that are time tested and stand true at the end of the day. Maybe, the fact that it’s a cliche is the reason so many people ignore the reality of it. It’s amazing what can happen when we change our posture towards others and a situation. It’s more than just thinking positively and wishfully thinking.
Anyway, it was such an inspirational conversation that I thought I blog some of my initial thoughts. I leave you with some of the late, great MJ.
“I’m starting with man in the mirror
I’m asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and CHANGE!”
